July 28, 2003
Lancaster Township Fire Department held it's monthly Monday night training secession July 28, at the Hershey Heritage Apartments swimming pool. This was the second part of a two part water rescue class taught by Deputy Chief Ron Comfort Jr.

The class was designed to train water rescue personnel in the most current techniques of water rescue and safety. The purpose of the class was to familiarize the firefighters with the proper procedures used in water safety and safe boat handling and give them a greater sense of competency in dealing with on-the-water emergencies.

The two night event covered water rescue and emergency response, rescue equipment, self-rescue and shore-based rescues, emergency boat operation & rescue techniques, boat handling, moving water tactics and line system rescue.
