Police Chase Ends In MVA In Lancaster Township
Lancaster City police officers Christopher E. Laser and Andrew Nauman spotted a vehicle code violation on a 1998 Mercedes-Benz as it traveled in the 400 block of South Prince Street at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday January 1, New Years Day.

When police attempted to stop the car, the vehicle fled. Police learned the car was stolen and pursued the vehicle at speeds over 100 mph until it crashed in the 900 block of South Prince Street. The vehicle slid through the Engleside intersection, slammed into the curbing and slid up onto a guardrail knocking over several traffic signs. Laser chased three suspects from the accident into the woods and apprehended one of them about five minutes after the crash. Police are investigating the involvement of two others who fled the car.

Rescue personnel from the Lancaster Township Fire Department used wood cribbing and a High Lift Jack to stabilize the vehicle so the Police detectives could conduct their investigation of the stolen vehicle. Rescue 6-6 provided lighting for the scene while the detectives searched the interior of the stolen car for evidence.

Lancaster Township Fire Police directed traffic around the scene for approximately 90 minutes.
