Dear Lancaster Township Fire Police:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking part in the Lancaster Family YMCAs 21st Annual Triathlon - a gala event with record numbers and tremendous media coverage!
What you may not be aware of is the impact your participation has on others. This year, the YMCA will subsidize over a half of a million dollars in programs and services to children, teens, seniors and families. By supporting the triathlon, you played a crutcial role in the development of the resources necessary to ensure that no individual is turned away from a YMCA program due to an ability to pay.
A safe, successful event builds upon those resources. Your assistance in providing course coverage to the triathlon was a key to achieving that end, in effect, moving the YMCA program closer to realizing its mission of enhancing the spiritual, mental, and physical well being of our community. Specifically, triathlon proceeds help support the YMCAs Youth Center which is frequented by nearly one hundred children each day. thanks to you, these children are provided after-school tutoring, literacy training, recreational and physical activities as well as service learning opportunities.
Again, thank you for supporting the YMCA triathlon, and for making a difference in the lives of so many people! I look forward to our continued partnership in building strong kids, strong families and strong communities - See you at the 22nd Annual Lancaster Family YMCA Triathlon on Saturday, September 11, 2004!
Sincerely,
Jeffrey S. Kenderdine
Director of Operations
