Vehicle Accident With Fire

A vehicle crashed into the Manor Shopping Center entrance median wall and burst into flames.


LTFD was dispatched at 7:08 p.m. for a reported vehicle fire at the entrance to the Manor Shopping Center, 1234 Millersville Pike.

Engine 6-6-2 arrived and found a black Volkswagen sedan with an engine compartment fire.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, crashed into the entrance median wall and burst into flames. The newly coated driveway was slippery after an early evening thunderstorm.

The fire was quickly brought under control. Engine 6-6-3 finished the overhaul process. Rescue 6-6 provided spill control for leaking fluids.

Fire police closed Millersville Pike for an hour until the the car was towed.
