MONDAY AUGUST 14,2006 — LTFD fire police were dispatched to Wabank Road
in the area of St Joe’s Athletic Field for traffic control at 10:30 a.m.
A York Waste trash truck was exiting St. Joe’s Athletic Field when he
noticed a car travelling towards him at a high rate of speed.
Since the trash truck was partly onto the roadway, the driver of the
trash truck swerved out of way to avoid a collision with the car.
After the trash truck swerved out of the way, the truck ended up stuck
on top of an embankment with the front end blocking south bound traffic
on Wabank Road. The center of the trucks undercarriage and tires were
straddling the earthen embankment unable to move.
Fire police controlled traffic around the vehicle until another trash truck arrived and pulled the truck from the embankment.
