MONDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 2006 — The topic of Monday nights training was drafting and ground based / elevated master stream operations.

The goal of the training was for everyone to learn how to properly set up a drafting operation and use different types of master streams for fire attack and exposure control.

OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING
  • Properly set up engine 66-1 for drafting operations
  • Properly connect to Truck 66 for master stream operations
  • Properly deploy the Blitzfire portable monitor
  • Properly and effectively use Truck 66 and the Blitzfire as exposure controls
  • Properly and effectively use Truck 66 and the Blitzfire to make an exterior fire attack
  • Properly deploy a 2 1/2” hose for master stream operations
  • Properly and effectively use the 2 1/2” hose for an exterior fire attack
