MONDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 2006 — The topic of Monday nights training was
drafting and ground based / elevated master stream operations.
The goal of the training was for everyone to learn how to properly set
up a drafting operation and use different types of master streams for
fire attack and exposure control.
OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING
- Properly set up engine 66-1 for drafting operations
- Properly connect to Truck 66 for master stream operations
- Properly deploy the Blitzfire portable monitor
- Properly and effectively use Truck 66 and the Blitzfire as exposure controls
- Properly and effectively use Truck 66 and the Blitzfire to make an exterior fire attack
- Properly deploy a 2 1/2” hose for master stream operations
- Properly and effectively use the 2 1/2” hose for an exterior fire attack
