Lancaster County Commissioner Visits LTFD

Lancaster County Commissioner and long-time Lancaster Township resident
Molly Henderson paid a visit to LTFD, Thursday June 9 at 6 p.m.
LTFD provided dinner cooked by Deputy Chief Ron Comfort Jr., Assistant Chief Steve Roy and Safety Officer Vicki Adams.
After dinner, Fire Chief Glenn Usdin gave Commissioner Henderson an inclusive tour of LTFD facilities, apparatus and equipment.
A
brief history of the LTFD organization and the challenges of running a
volunteer a fire department from both a financial and human resources
perspective was discussed.
“This was an important opportunity
for us to show one of the County leaders how we do our job and what it
takes to support a volunteer fire department” said Usdin.
Commissioner
Henderson received a ride in the bucket of Truck 6-6 and a
demonstration of rescue/air and water capabilities of LTFD.
A slideshow of photos taken by LT. Greg Leaman of past LTFD incidents was shown by LT. Paul Castline at the end of the evening.
