Lancaster Township Fire Department assisted by Millersville Fire Company responded to an apartment building fire at the Village Of Lancaster Green apartments, 1623 Judie Lane.
The 3:56 a.m. fire forced the residence of the apartments to evacuate the building as smoke filled the first and second floor hallways of the complex.
The fire was contained to a first floor laundry room.
Firefighters used a positive pressure ventilation fan to evacuate the smoke filled hallways before the residence were allowed to return to their apartments.
Emergency personnel remained on the scene for an hour.
Lancaster Township Fire Police secured the scene to protect firefighters from traffic.
