Four Call Day With Two Being Fires

08:39 LTFD Truck 6-6 was dispatched to 1596 Manhiem Pk, National Bearings Company, for a reported building fire. Units from Manhiem Twp. arrived to find smoke showing from an industrial building. Crews found a fire in one of the machines in the Screw Machine Department. Truck 6-6 arrived and staged beside Truck 2-4. Fire was contained to the machine and command held units from 2-11, 2-4 and 6-7.
 
10:17  LTFD Rescue 6-6 was special requested at a working house fire at 1000 Monticello Lane in Manor Twp. Units from Millersville Fire Department arrived to find smoke showing from side Charlie. Rescue 6-6 was assigned to assist interior crews with opening up and ventilation as well as some salvage and overhaul. The Rescue crew also filled a few air cylinders while on the scene. Fire was contained to the back bedroom and placed under control in about 20 minutes. The blaze was ruled accidental as the result of an electrical problem. Damages are estimated at $17,000.
 
14:07  LTFD Engine 66-2 and 66-3 responded for a AFA at Country Meadow Retirement community 1380 Elm Ave. Crews found staff were conducting a fire drill and didn't place the alarm system out of service. Units cleared in about 10 minutes.
 
15:42  The fire alarm at the LTFD North station was somehow activated causing units to be dispatched. All units were held in station.
