Police said a 60 year old man from Lancaster was behind the wheel when his car crashed into a tree near Bean Hill and Wabank roads.
"We received a phone call from a passerby that stated there was a one-car accident," said Sgt. Pete Gladfelder, of the Lancaster City Police accident investigation unit.
Police said when they arrived at the scene, Richardson was dead.
The coroner said the driver might have suffered a heart attack.
