August 12th, 2005, 6:35 PM

Lancaster Township Fire Police assisted with traffic control at the 13th annual St. Joseph’s Catholic Church carnival.

The carnival ran from August 9-13 at the St. Joseph’s athletic fields, off Wabank Road in Lancaster Township.

Fire police placed traffic control devices on Wabank road to assist carnival-goers enter and exit the athletic fields.

Fire Police officers worked from 4-11pm each night.

Firefighters Duty Night was held in conjunction with the fireworks display on Friday August 12 at the carnival.

In preparation for the Duty Night fireworks detail, a group of firefighters gathered at Dominion Pizza, 938 Columbia Ave. for dinner and fellowship.

After the group had finished their meals, Deputy Chief Ron Comfort  Jr. was ready to pay the bill for the dinner.

To the surprise of the group, an anonymous patron of the restaurant graciously paid the entire bill for the meals of the firefighters.

A special thanks to the anonymous resident!!!!!!!

After dinner, Engines 6-6-1, 6-6-2 and 6-6-3 proceeded to the St. Joseph’s athletic fields to provide fire protection during the fireworks display.
