Squads Dispatched To Conestoga Twp. Woods Fire

THURSDAY APRIL 3, 2008 - LTFD assisted Conestoga Fire Company at a large woods fire at 4000 Main St., Conestoga, PA.

The fire was behind the Conestoga Twp. Maintenance shed.

Squads 66-2 and 66-3 with a total of 8 firefighters were dispatched for manpower to help fight the woodland fire.

Forrest fire crews from Mt. Joy and W.E.S.T. (Wilderness Emergency Strike Team), were also dispatched to help contain the blaze.

Approximately 4 acres of woods and brush were scorched during the fire.

Crews returned to service at 6:42 p.m., approximately 3 hours in service.

Units responding to assist Conestoga firefighters included brush trucks from Pequea, WEST, Mt. Joy Twp. Forest Fire Crew, PADCNR Forest Fire Warden, Highville, West Willow.

Tenders from New Danville, Highville, West WIllow, Millersville and Pequea.

Squads from Willow St., Highville, Washington Boro, Strasburg, Quarryville, Rawlinsville, Refton, Millersville, and Lanc. Twp FD.

Engines from Washington Boro and New Danville.
