SATURDAY AUGUST, 23 2008 - LTFD responded to a single vehicle accident in front of 162 School House Road at 4:28 a.m.
The driver of a black Audi lost control of the vehicle on SchoolHouse Road at September Drive. The car skid sideways knocking down a stop sign and a street sign before it flipped onto it's roof.
The resident of 162 SchoolHouse Road, Linda Ansel, was awoken by a loud thud. She went to her window to investigate but here view was obstructed by tree. She went downstairs to look out of the living room window to see where the noise came from.
Peering out the window she found a black car upside down in her front yard. She also saw two male occupants of the car flee the vehicle.
Rescue 6-6 provided lighting for the scene as Lancater City police officer Peter Schmidt conducted an investigation into the owner of the vehicle and who was driving.
Firefighters were in service for 45 minutes.
