July 28th, 2005, 5:57 PM

East Hempfield Township, PA — At just after 16:30, Station 2-11 (Southern Manheim Township) was dispatched along with Lancaster Township Engine 6-6-3 to the area of Farmingdale Road and Harrisburg Pike for a car fire.

Engine 6-6-3 responded with 5 personnel and was advised that conflicting reports were placing this call in East Hempfield Township on Farmingdale Road.

This brought an engine from Station 6-7(Roherstown) since Farmingdale Road is in their district.

Police Department arrived on the scene and advised that the location will be in the 900 block of Farmingdale Road and have a vehicle well involved with fire.

Engine 6-6-3 as the first arriving unit, placed their 150' bumper line in service to extinguish the blaze.

Engine 6-7-1 arrived shortly after and supplied Engine 6-6-3 with water as their crew assisted with extinguishing the fire.

Engine 2-11-3 arrived and placed a forestry line in service from Engine 6-6-3 to put out a small field fire caused by the car fire.

Units were on the scene for just under an hour.
