SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 4, 2010 Lancaster Township Fire Department was dispatched to an accident with reported entrapment in the 1900 block of Wabank Road at 1:41 a.m., Saturday September 4, 2010 The 911 caller did not know their exact location, township or borough where they were calling from to report the accident. Lancaster County Wide Communication used their GEOLYNX software to pinpoint their location, which returned a Lancaster Township Location. The Lancaster Township and Millersville Boro municipality dividing line runs between the roadway and the back yard pavements of Southern Village along Wabank Road. The caller was calling from the Lancaster Township side of the municipality dividing line which called for Lancaster Township Fire Department. Responding apparatus where given additional information from Lancaster County Wide Communication, a Millersville Boro police officer is on the scene reporting a head on collision and confirming one person is trapped in the vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle is out of their car and needs medical treatment. Lancaster Township Deputy Chief Glenn Usdin arrived and established command of the incident. Finding heavy entrapment of the patient, Usdin requested Millersville Rescue 6-5 to assist Lancaster Township rescue personnel. Firefighters removed all doors and the roof to gain access to the patient. An Amkus RAM was placed in the passenger side doorway and an Amkus Spreader equipped with Extend-a-Tips was deployed between the bucket seats to lift the dashboard and free the patient. The patient was extricated at 2:19 a.m., 26 minutes after the arrival of Lancaster Township Rescue 6-6. Police reported, Christopher Potts, a 21-year-old Millersville man, was trapped in his black Volkswagen Jetta after driving it across the center line in the 1900 block of Wabank Road and striking an eastbound Gold Chevy sedan driven by Jesse Keim, 22, of Lancaster. Keim had minor injuries. After the patient was extricated, Millersville Police determined the accident was in Millersville Boro. The roadway is in Millersville Boro, the houses are in Lancaster Township in that part of the district.
