4 Emergency Calls In 1 Hour

TUESDAY JULY 18, 2006 – LTFD Engine 66-2 and Truck 6-6 assisted Rohrerstown Fire Company on a building fire at the Stauffers of Kissel Hill store, 301 Rohrerstown Road, at 9:37. LTFD was also diapatched to three additional calls all between 9:30 and 10 a.m.

 A haze had filled the store, which was immediately evacuated. Between 40 and 50 customers were in the store at the time.

Firefighters said the haze developed when a motorized cart that carries supplies through the store started smoking.

Fire Police assist with traffic control.


At 9:57, Rescue 6-6 was dispatched to a vehicle accident with entrapment in the area of Hawthorne Drive and Manor Ridge Drive in Manor Township. A truck traveling through a residential neighborhood pulled down wires and a pole  trapping occupants inside a vehicle.

At 10:10, LTFD was dispatched to Bentley Lane for an automatic fire alarm.

Traffic signals at Schoolhouse Road and Millersville Pike were without power as well as the Bausman Area.


At 10:13, Fire police were dispatched to assist with traffic control. The accident interrupted power in Lancaster Township. Traffic signals at Schoolhouse Road and Millersville Pike were without power as well as the Bausman Area.
