LANCASTER TOWNSHIP, PA –A three vehicle accident in the 100 block of
Race Avenue at Wheatland Avenue in Lancaster Township, left one driver
trapped in her vehicle.
LTFD was dispatched at 6:58 p.m. to the crash with Lancaster City Police Department.
While enroute to the scene, the police department advised there was one driver confined in one of the three vehicles.
After the impact of the vehicles, a gold Acura Legend came to rest on
the Lancaster City side of Wheatland Avenue. Lancaster City Engine 1
was requested to assist at the scene due to one third of the accident being in their district.
Lancaster Township and Lancaster City firefighters extricated the driver in 20 minutes.
Emily Weyl, 18, of Birchunville, Chester County, who was the
driver trapped in her car, was transported to Lancaster General Hospital. The
other drivers were Florence Stewart, 47, of Lancaster, and Ronald
Patrick, 32, of Lancaster, police said.
Emergency personnel remained on the scene for 90 minutes.
