Crews from Lancaster Township were dispatched at 14:05 to 1728 Judie
Lane for an apartment fire.

As Chief 66 arrived, he had fire showing from the second floor balcony area. A second alarm was requested but was quickly cancelled once the fire was found to be only involving a gas grill and contents of the porch.

LTFD responded with Engine 6-6-1, 6-6-2, 6-6-3, Squads 1 and 2.

Half the crew from Engine 1 pulled a 200' crosslay and knocked the fire from the exterior while the other half checked for extension to the apartment. Engine 2 laid a supply line to Engine 1. Their crews assisted with checking for extension also.

Due to our truck being out of service, Tower 6-7 (Roherstown FC) was on the initial alarm also. They assisted with ventilation and used their Thermal Imager to check for hot spots.

Engine 6-5-4 (Millersville FC) responded and assisted with packing the 700' of supply line laid by Engine 2.

Chief 6-6 (G.Usdin) had Command, Lt. 6-6-1 (P.Castline) had division 2 and 6-12 had the rehab/medical sector.

Units were on the scene for just over an hour.

Just before 23:00 hrs, Crews were called again for a reported apartment
fire. This time in 6-8's (West Lancaster FC) area.

LTFD Engine 6-6-2 responded with 6 personnel.

Crews found a smoldering fire in a hollow knee wall that was attached to a second flr balcony. Crews from 6-8 (West Lancaster FC), 6-6 (Lancaster Township FD) and 6-7 (Roherstown FC) opened up the wall and hit the hot spots with a water can.

Command 6-8 (P.Shelly) held the call to units from 6-8 (West Lancaster FC) and returned the rest. Units cleared in about 20 minutes.
