Fire damages deck, garage in Manor Twp.

A fire left smoldering in a ceramic outdoor fireplace caused an
early-morning blaze that burned a wooden deck and damaged the garage of
a suburban Manor Township home, a fire official said.
The fire, discovered before 3:30 a.m. at 2025 Manor Ridge Drive,
caused $40,000 damage to the deck and the garage, but did not spread
into the house, according to Rob Muschlitz, assistant fire chief of
West Lancaster Fire Company.
There were no injuries.
Firefighters arrived at the scene to find a fire in the back of a
semi-detached garage, Muschlitz said. Firefighters extinguished the
fire within 35 minutes, by pushing it back from inside the house.
However, within roughly an hour of leaving the scene, firefighters
were called back around 6 a.m. to fight the blaze, which had reignited,
Muschlitz said. The second blaze burned in the garage, but didn't add
to the damage estimate, Muschlitz said.
Muschlitz said the blaze originally started when a fire lit in the
outdoor chimney the previous night smoldered then burned onto the deck.
The fire burned the deck and caused smoke damage to the garage and some of its contents, Muschlitz said.
