December 10th, 2007, 4:08 PM

DECEMBER 8, 2007- Truck and Rescue 6-6 assisted Willow Street Street Fire Company on a 2 alarm apartment building fire at Willow Valley Lakes Manor retirement community, "E" building.

The LTFD crews assisted with ventilation of the heavy smoke that spread through the third floor corridors from a kitchen fire.

The fire broke out in a third-floor apartment around 1 p.m. It was caused by food that was left unattended on a stove, said Deputy Chief Mike Reese of the Willow Street Fire Company.

The damage was confined to the kitchen, he said, describing it as "moderate."

Residents of the E building were evacuated to the F building. Residents were let back in at about 2:45 p.m., Reese said.

The fire was brought under control in about 10 minutes.

Gap Fire Co.Truck 4-2 and Gordonville Fire Co.Tanker 4-3 were transferred to Willow Street's station during the fire to cover additional calls.
