LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. -
A
Lancaster Township woman and her two children were displaced from their
apartment Monday when a two-alarm blaze burned through the family
kitchen.
The fire started just before 4 p.m. at 408 Waterford
Court after the woman accidentally left the stove turned on when she
left the apartment with her two children, officials said.
A
neighbor upstairs called 911 when he smelled smoke and heard a smoke
alarm sounding from the first-floor unit in Waterford at Sterling Place
apartments, officials said.
No one was injured in the blaze, according to officials.
Lancaster Township Deputy Fire Chief Glenn Usdin estimated damages to be about $25,000.
